TechnoServe and the Deshpande Foundation have joined forces to promote market-based social enterprises in the Sandbox region* through a Social Enterprise Plan Competition called Enrich Engage Enable. The competition is funded by the Deshpande Foundation and designed, managed and executed by TechnoServe. Enrich Engage Enable is also supported by a network of local Northern Karnataka social entrepreneurs, businesses, professionals, and public entities. Enrich Engage Enable’s comprehensive approach and quality partners help make it a high-value opportunity for social entrepreneurs.
The social enterprise plan competition model is an effective method of identifying, mentoring and improving the environment for social entrepreneurs who will grow new businesses that will not only create jobs, revenue and wealth but also focus substantively on addressing social inequities.
Social entrepreneurs with robust market-based social enterprise ideas will have the opportunity to turn their ideas into viable businesses through training and mentoring. Winners will be awarded seed capital for start-up or expansion, as well as a range of ongoing services to ensure that they have the support that they need for success.
The ultimate aim of the program is to turn great ideas into thriving, sustainable, market-based social enterprises.
